The 2nd pic is the closest to I have to what it looked like before I took it apart. It was given to me by a friend and I’ve had it for years and now that I got a new bed frame, I don’t need it anymore.
There is a little damage to one of the boards at the bottom that I never noticed before since I had someone build it for me, but since I’ve never had any problems, it shouldn’t be noticeable. But if it makes ya feel better, make sure ya have that damage end against the headboard. I think that’s why I never noticed.
There is also a few missing black knobs, but again, I never experienced anything loosen and everything held together great for years! I’ve also put in all the screws and bolts and all the small stuff in a bag together along with the websites on both the instruction manual and a couple YouTube videos of someone putting it together since when I got it, my friend didn’t have the manual anymore to give to me.
